PHOENIX — A federal judge has agreed to let lawyers for Arizona and the American Civil Liberties Union continue trying to settle a legal dispute over a 2014 law targeting so-called "revenge porn."
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton on Tuesday said she'd keep blocking the law pending an agreement or changes made in a special Legislative session.
Bolton set an August 31 date to hear arguments if the dispute it hasn't been settled.
The law makes it a crime for jilted lovers to post nude photos of their former partners online.
The ACLU challenged the law as unconstitutional, saying it violated First Amendment rights.
The sides asked Bolton to put the law on hold while the Legislature crafted a new law this year, but the effort fell short.
