New Report Finds Arizona's Cotton Crops Could Be Wasting Water

Thanks to planning and water storage related to the reality of living in the desert, Arizona has received some credit for being better prepared for extreme drought than neighboring states — especially California.

But a new investigative report by Pro Publica indicates that federal funding for cotton growing could be leading to troublesome water wasting.

Abrahm Lustgarten co-wrote the report. He focused on the community of Coolidge.
