SCOTTSDALE — A former NBA All-Star has been arrested in Scottsdale on allegations he ran a massive online fraud scheme using credit cards of people from across the country.

Scottsdale police spokesman Kevin Watts said Saturday that Chris Gatling was released after being booked on fraud schemes, aggravated identity theft and forgery.

Gatling's arrest Thursday was first reported by TMZ.com.

According to police, Gatling met a Scottsdale fitness studio owner on a dating website earlier this year. He asked her to run charges to credit card numbers for him through her business.

Policesaid she then gave him 90 percent of the dollar amounts charged in cash, leading to a loss of $90,000 for her.

Gatling, a power forward, ended his 11-year NBA career in 2002.
