Phoenix Rain Sets Records With Second Wettest May

PHOENIX, Ariz. — Phoenix this year had its second wettest May on record for the month.

The National Weather Service reports that Phoenix last month recorded 1.17 inches of precipitation, compared with just .11 inch normally for May.

The record precipitation in Phoenix for May is 1.31 inches, set in 1930.

Most of the rain that fell in Phoenix in May did so on May 15, when the .93 inch recorded set a record for the date.
