Tucson Democrat May Run Against McSally

State Rep. Victoria Steele, a Tucson Democrat, is planning to form an exploratory committee to run against Republican U.S. Rep. Martha McSally.

Steele said McSally hasn't done enough for Congressional District 2, which covers part of southern Arizona, since taking office in January.

Steele has called McSally out for voting for a bill that she said would make it harder for women who have been raped or victims of incest to get an abortion.

Steele said some of her priorities include protecting Social Security, reducing student debt and creating jobs.

The only other Democrat to form an exploratory committee so far is Rep. Bruce Wheeler.

National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Zach Hunter in a statement said Steele's liberal views are too extreme for the district.
