Looking Back On Sheriff Arpaio's Time In Office

On Tuesday, Sheriff Joe Arpaio officially became the longest-serving sheriff in Maricopa County history.

Arpaio took office in 1993. His longevity was marked by a celebration with some of the sheriff’s friends and employees.

Arizona Republic columnist E.J. Montini has covered the sheriff closely throughout his time in office and wrote a column earlier this week saying now would be a great time for the sheriff to call it quits.

We talked with Montini.
