Rainy skies are resulting in cheaper water bills for Flagstaff residents.
Water Resources Manager Erin Young said residents aren’t using as much water as they normally would. The city delivers up to 13 million gallons a day during May and June. Right now the city is only delivering 8 million gallons a day.
“This is sort of unprecedented, having this kind of moisture in May and June, so it’s just great to see that our production volume is low compared to what it could be,” Young said.
Young said if water deliveries remain low, the city will be able to preserve water in Lake Mary and other reservoirs.
