Avnet was Arizona’s highest-ranked company on the year’s Fortune 500 list at number 108. Four other firms also made the list.
By way of comparison, California and Texas each has more than 50 companies on the list.
Arizona had one more business make the cut last year, but U.S. Airways merged with American Airlines and moved its headquarters to Texas.
