The heatwave in the Valley will continue today. Forecasters said area highs could be record breaking.
Officials with the National Weather Service said temperatures around 110 and 115 aren’t out of the ordinary at this time of year. But meteorologist Chris Kuhlman said what is abnormal is how long this heatwave is expected to last.
"When you approach 10 days in a row of 110 degrees, that gets to be a little bit of an unusual event,” he said.
Kuhlman added things aren’t expected to cool down until mid next week. The expected high today is 115, which ties a record set in 1989.
