The U.S. Marshal’s Service is warning about a jury duty scam.
Deputy Marshal Amelia Swenhaugen said someone claiming to be from the U.S. Marshal’s Service is calling and threatening people.
“We’ve received some reports that callers are claiming that victims or recipients of the call have failed to report for jury duty. During these calls they’re threatening arrest, fines, jail time,” Swenhaugen said.
Swenhaugen said if you received a threatening call you should call the U.S. Marshal’s Office.
She advised people not to give out personal information of any kind to those attempting to perpetrate the scam.
