ASU Researcher: Oil Pipeline Spills Happen Almost Daily In U.S.

An oil pipeline that ruptured last month in Santa Barbara, Calif., leaked upwards of 100,000 gallons of oil along the Pacific Coast.

A historian says pipelines spill pretty much every day somewhere in the United States.

Christopher Jones, who teaches history in ASU’s School of Historical, Philosophical and Religious Studies, has researched the history of oil pipelines.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
