Dark Sky Association Concerned About Phoenix's Plan To Implement LED Street Lights

Phoenix is looking to replace its current streetlights with new, more efficient LEDs. But the city’s potential choice isn’t sitting well with groups like the Tucson-based International Dark Sky Association. John Barentine is its program manager.

So what does the city of Phoenix think about the International Dark Sky Association’s concerns? Mark Hartman is chief sustainability officer for the city and Briana Velez is a civil engineer with the Street Transportation Department.
