Driving around the Valley over the past several days, you may have seen some tents with banners flapping in parking lots. They tend to pop up around July Fourth and New Year’s — the two times of year Arizonans can legally buy, and use, certain types of fireworks.

To find out more about this, I met up with Jason Halaby of Loco Fireworks at one of his three tents.

Halaby’s day job is the owner of an auto repair shop — he said he’s been running tents for as long as it’s been legal as a hobby. I asked him if there’s money to be made selling fireworks out of a tent.
