A fire burning near Roosevelt Lake in eastern Arizona has prompted campground evacuations and the closure of two boat ramps. Carrie Templin with Tonto National Forest said the fire did not start naturally.
“The Windy Fire was reported last evening at just about dark, actually. And apparently, it was a human-caused fire,” Templin said.
Templin said the fire has only grown to 46 acres, with the lake acting as the northern fire line. The gate leading into the Badger and Ringtail boat launches will remain closed to the public while firefighters work to contain the fire.
