The Arizona State Prison in Kingman holds 3,508 inmates.

Arizona Department of Corrections officials transferred 113 more inmates out of the Kingman prison on Wednesday evening. The inmates are being moved because a large portion of the Hualupai Unit at Arizona State Prison-Kingman was damaged during multiple riots this past weekend

“We moved 50 inmates to the Navajo County Jail, 30 to the Apache County Jail, 24 to the Santa Cruz County Jail. The remaining inmates will be absorbed into state facilities and placed in state beds," said Andrew Wilder, Department of Corrections spokesman.

With this move, a total of 1,168 prisoners from the Hualapai Unit has been temporarily relocated from the Management and Training Corporation private prison in Kingman.

The Department of Corrections is still investigating what led to the unrest.
