FAA Fines SkyWest Airlines More Than $1.2M

SkyWest Airlines has been fined more than $1.2 million by the Federal Aviation Administration for failing to inspect some of its aircraft.

According to the FAA, SkyWest failed to investigate cargo door skins on two of its airplanes after cracks were discovered during fatigue testing. It also failed to inspect landing gear components on another four airplanes.

The airline operated thousands of flights, even though those inspections were overdue.
