National Ice Cream Day A Tradition Since 1984

This Sunday may well be the tastiest holiday you didn’t know existed — it’s National Ice Cream Day.

And just in case you think we (or a couple of guys named Ben and Jerry) made this up, it actually became an official holiday in 1984 when President Ronald Reagan issued a proclamation designating both ice cream month and the day itself.

In doing so, by the way, Reagan described ice cream as “a nutritious and wholesome food,” which “enjoys a reputation as the perfect dessert and snack food.”

So, with all of that said, let’s talk about ice cream. To do so, we welcome Jan Wichayanuparp, co-owner of Valley-based Sweet Republic Artisan Ice Cream.
