Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has met with the soon-to-be governor of the Mexican state of Sonora to talk cross-border partnerships.
The governor's office said in a news release that the meeting with Claudia Pavlovich took place Wednesday.
The two discussed their goals for a partnership that emphasizes economic development and trade.
Ducey said he is committed to cross-border trade.
The Arizona-Mexico Commission said that $41.6 billion worth of goods in two-way trade are processed at Arizona ports of entries.
