Survey Finds Arizona Schools Need Millions In Capital Improvements

A new survey finds school districts in Arizona are facing hundreds of millions of dollars in critical capital needs.

CBS 5 Investigates recently published the results of a survey it conducted among Arizona school districts, asking about infrastructure needs — things such as roofs, HVAC units, electrical systems and more.

The 12 school districts that responded said they required a combined $280 million in repairs.

To talk about how this happened and what can be done about it, we talked with Chuck Essigs, director of government relations for the Arizona Association of School Business Officials.
