Dan Saban Enters Race For Maricopa County Sheriff

A former Buckeye police chief who has unsuccessfully tried to unseat Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in the past has announced he will try again in 2016.

Dan Saban is the fourth candidate who has entered the race against Arpaio so far.

He first ran as a Republican in 2004 and then as a Democrat in 2008.

This time Saban will run as a Republican, which means he will face Arpaio in the GOP primary.

Democrat John Rowan, Republican Roger Baldwin and Independent Kenneth W. Baker have already entered the race.

Arpaio will be trying to win his seventh term.

According to his campaign, he’s already raised $6.5 million.
