Historic preservation advocates will meet Thursday afternoon to discuss specific plans to save the 1938 Works Progress Administration building on the Arizona State Fairgrounds.
The structure at 19th Avenue and McDowell Road was slated to be demolished a year ago because the State Fair claimed it didn’t have the money to make the necessary repairs.
The deadline for specifics on how to save the building passed last weekend, but the State Fair isn’t planning to knock it down anytime soon.
