How Agencies Are Trying To Stop Wrong-Way Drivers In Metro Phoenix

A series of wrong-way driving incidents and crashes last year led to transportation and law enforcement officials in Arizona to team up to try to figure out ways of putting the brakes on the confused motorists.

Testing has started at three spots in the Phoenix area intended to detect the wrong-way drivers.

We talked with Doug Nintzel, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Transportation, and Melisa Finley, research engineer at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute.
