Arizona To Receive $2.2M In Drug Company Settlement

Arizona will receive $2.2 million as its share of a settlement with a drug manufacturer. The attorneys general of Arizona, 47 other states and Washington, D.C., reached settlement with pharmaceutical manufacturer Amgen.

The company was accused of harming consumers by unlawfully promoting its drugs Aranesp and Enbrel and exposing consumers to high costs and serious adverse effects.

The overall settlement was for $71 million.

Al Macias, former KJZZ news director, retired as KJZZ's news director in 2022. He rejoined the station as a features reporter in 2023 and also as a part-time editor in 2024.
