Students are generally moved in and classes are coming back into session at colleges and universities across Arizona. For some students, it’s a whole new world.
Cesar Calderon is one of them. He starts classes next week at Mesa Community College. The 26-year-old graduated from Mesa High in 2012, but wasn’t able to afford higher education until a judge upheld a policy making some undocumented immigrants under the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program eligible for in-state tuition at the Maricopa Community Colleges.
Calderon is originally from Mexico, but has lived in Mesa for 20 years.
