Phoenix Voters Head To The Polls

Voting continues Tuesday in Phoenix municipal elections. Voters began casting ballots Saturday. One of the measures on the ballot includes a proposed $31 billion transportation plan, or Prop 104.

Seth Darnell was at Phoenix City Hall to cast his ballot. He said he voted against the measure.

“I’m not a big fan of the tax for the increase of the light rail expansion," Darnell said. "I think there are some better opportunities to make that happen."

Jacqueline O’ Brand was also at city hall to cast her vote. She said she voted in favor of Prop 104.  She said her commute will improve if the proposal is passed because the light rail will run right by her home.

“I mean, I’ll be able to take the train," O'Brand said. "At this point, I have to drive to the nearest park and rid,e which is like four miles away at the moment."

The polls are open at city hall until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. The mayoral and fifth district seats are also up for election.
