Motorists traveling between Phoenix and Globe on the US 60 will have to be patient this week. The Arizona Department of Transportation is closing parts of the highway for road work.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the US 60 will be closed from east of Superior to the Top of the World west of Miami.
ADOT will be blasting the area for an improvement project that includes widening roadway shoulders and building a new passing lane. Closure could last up to 90 minutes.
ADOT said they anticipate the highway will be closed at least once a week for blasting for up to three months.
