Arizona Awarded Criminal Justice Grants

The Arizona Criminal Justice Commission was awarded $3.5 million in grants.

One of the federal awards is for funding drug task forces, court programs and substance abuse treatment. The other grant is for analyzing how effective how the programs are at reducing crime.

“Being able to look at data and see how programs we are enacting in Arizona are actually impacting crime in the community helps us make decisions on how to best grant that money out," said Andrew LeFevre with the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission,

LeFevre said the commission used some grant money from the same award last year to fund multi-jurisdictional drug task forces in 13 Arizona counties.
