Peoria is trying to find new tenants for some empty buildings in its P83 Entertainment District.
Specifically, it wants to fill some former restaurant spaces that have a long-standing history of vacancies. So, it’s offering to cover up to 50 percent of the costs to transform those eateries into spaces for a few targeted industries.
Scott Whyte, Peoria’s Economic Development Services director, explained the issue.
