Debris and water cover the ground in Hildale, Utah, where a flood ripped through the town Monday.

Emergency responders are still searching for one person who was swept into a flash flood Monday in Hildale, Utah, near the Arizona border. An additional 12 people are confirmed dead.

Emergency responders rescued three people. One was hospitalized.

Community member Ted Barlow posted a YouTube video of the muddy flood waters raging through his front yard.

In the video you can hear children screaming and Barlow warning one to stand back.

“There were several vehicles that were swept down into the flood,” said Michelle Chitin, Washington County Emergency Services spokeswoman. “Two of the vehicles were occupied. There were 16 people between the two vehicles.”

More footage of the flood showed women rescued from vehicles wearing the long prairie dresses, characteristic of the polygamous community. Hildale, Utah, and its sister town Colorado City, Arizona are home to the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or FLDS Church.
