Yoshua Okon takes real-life incidents and creates video installations from them.
One called "Oracle" included the town’s residents recreating an immigration-related protest.
He also came up with "Octopus" in 2011. It featured Guatemalan day laborers reenacting their military training in the parking lot of a Los Angeles Home Depot.
That creation is now being exhibited at Arizona State University’s downtown gallery space through Oct. 3. Okon, who was in Mexico, spoke about his work.
