As a result of the passage of Proposition 104, the City of Phoenix has a $16 million surplus in the general fund.
The city is considering using part of that surplus to hire an additional 125 officers for the Phoenix Police Department. But, while the Phoenix Police are committed to increasing their personnel numbers, not everyone in the community is convinced that’s the best way to spend taxpayer money.
