A group of homeowners in Jerome has filed suit against the town, over its prohibition on short-term rentals.
The homeowners say they had been allowed to rent out their homes using services like Airbnb and VRBO, but that the city recently stopped them from doing so. Jared Blanchard explained the case. He is a staff attorney at the Goldwater Institute, which represents the homeowners.
Jerome officials are not talking about this. In a statement, Jerome’s town clerk said, in part, “The Town believes that the best course of action at this time is to reserve comment and allow this matter to resolve itself through the administrative and legal processes.”
