For the first time ever, the Conference on Complex Systems is taking place here in the United States, more specifically this week in Tempe.
The conference has to do with broadening knowledge and expanding scientific horizons. It attracts some of the smartest people on the planet and is being
hosted by ASU. Professor Sander van der Leeuw is one of them. He is the former dean of the school’s Global Institute of Sustainability and is now in charge of the conference.
