Neighbors: Proposed Frank Lloyd Wright Cultural Facility Could Be Too Noisy

The conflict over a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed home in the Arcadia area is continuing.

Attorney Zach Rawling owns the property and has proposed turning it into an educational and cultural facility that would be a teaching tool for multiple generations. Earlier this month, Rawling submitted an application to make the property a historic landmark.

Opposition to keeping the home intact and helping it avoid bulldozers has been relatively limited, but the most dramatic split has occurred over Rawling’s specific plans. Some neighbors believe they’ll simply bring noise and traffic to the residential area.

Former state land commissioner Vanessa Hickman, a consultant on the project, and longtime Arcadia resident and activist Paul Barnes explained the issue.
