The Arizona Department of Health Services has concluded a series of tests in Superior, Arizona, after residents reported concerns about elevated levels of lead in the soil and water.
The agency’s environmental health team completed multiple community-wide tests, including blood tests on 22 residents, all of which have come back negative for lead poisoning.
Jessica Rigler, a member of the department's epidemiology team, said lead concerns are common in mining towns.
"At this time after looking at some of the water quality data and then conducting some of the blood lead tests we have not identified any health concerns in the community," said Rigler.
Rigler added there are no further lead related tests scheduled in the Superior area at this time.
