An alarmingly low percentage of Arizona high school graduates are well-poised to succeed in the state’s universities.
A report by the Center for the Future of Arizona shows the state is "fairly well positioned'' to meet the needs of employers who need workers with mid-level skills. These are the ones that require at least some college, an associate degree or some advanced technical training.
Sybil Francis, executive director of the Center for the Future of Arizona, talked about improving the situation.
