Following a five-month recess, Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s civil contempt of court proceedings got under way again late last month.
The hearing included Judge Murray Snow asking Arpaio directly if he knew whether the judge had been the target of an investigation. Former Arpaio attorneys also testified during the hearing.
One of the close observers of the Sheriff in recent years has been Phoenix New Times columnist Stephen Lemons. He talked about the proceedings.
