A new report from a group promoting open primaries across the country, including in Arizona, extols the virtues of Nebraska’s nonpartisan, unicameral legislature.
The reportconcludes state offers “a model of effective and transparent government.” Patrick McWhorter is the Arizona campaign director for Open Primaries Arizona, which is working on a ballot measure which would pit the top two candidates with the most votes in the primary against each other in the general election, regardless of their party affiliation.
McWhorter spoke about lessons from Nebraska that are relevant in Arizona.
