Arizona’s Secretary of State office has seen some election-related controversy in recent months, with some activists wanting the office to try to do more about so-called dark money and what entities are contributing to political campaigns.
But in a new package of proposals, the Secretary of State doesn’t directly address that issue. Instead, the focus is on simplifying many aspects of campaign finance law in Arizona. Eric Spencer, the state elections director, who works under Secretary of State Michele Reagan, spoke about this.
