One student died and three were wounded in a shooting on Northern Arizona University’s campus Friday.
A prosecutor said there’s no indication of self defense. He said the 18-year-old suspect, Steven Jones, could have walked away.
Members of the Delta Chi fraternity fought with Jones outside an NAU residence hall. Police said Jones claims he was punched in the face, then chased to his car.
Prosecutors said Jones got his gun from a car, then shot the men at close range.
Colin Brough died from two gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder. At least one other student was shot. Witnesses say none of the victims appeared to be armed.
A judge set a $2 million cash-only bond for Jones and charged him with one count of first-degree homicide and three counts of aggravated assault.
Jones' next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 15.
