Is Race A Factor When Letting Someone Cross The Street?

New research suggested there may be a racial bias at crosswalks. Researchers looked at marked crosswalks without signals in Portland, Oregon, and found race played a factor in whether drivers stopped to let people cross the street.

Arlie Adkins is an assistant professor of planning in the College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture at the University of Arizona. Adkins, who was one of the researchers involved in the study, talked about the idea to look at this.
