Book 'Dinner With Churchill' Explores Influential Politician's Life

This year marked the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II. One of the most prominent figures of that war was British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

In various documentaries and photos, it seemed that Churchill often had a cigar in his hand or in his mouth. But what did Churchill eat? How important was the dinner table to him?

Cita Stelzer wrote about that — and more — in her book "Dinner with Churchill: Policymaking at the Dinner Table."

Steve Goldstein was a host at KJZZ from 1997 to 2022.
