This is part two in a two-part series. Listen to Part One here.

A legislative committee is looking into the possibility of making membership in the Arizona State Bar voluntary for attorneys.

Right now, they have to join in order to practice in Arizona. John Phelps, CEO and executive director of the State Bar of Arizona gave his perspective. Jim Manley is a senior attorney with the Goldwater Institute. He does not believe state bar membership should be mandatory. He explained his take on the issue.
