CEO Says Luxury Airline Jetpurple Airwayz Expanding To Scottsdale Airport

The CEO of a newly revamped luxury airline says his company will begin service out of Scottsdale Airpark next year to three popular tourist destinations.

Jetpurple Airwayz CEO Adam Blumenkranz said the airline will fly out of alternate reliever airports, allowing passengers to cut down on transit time and hassle by avoiding crowded commercial terminals.

The airline will fly to San Diego, Las Vegas, and Rocky Point. And, he said it will offer convenience not available at the larger, commercial airports.

“If you’re prescreened, you can be driven up to the aircraft five minutes before takeoff, and upon landing you can have a car waiting for you planeside,” Blumenkranz said.

He said the convenience comes at a higher price than an economy ticket on the major airlines, but it will be less expensive than a business class or first class ticket to the same destinations on those airlines.

EDITOR'S NOTE: This article has been modified to reflect the statements made by CEO Adam Blumenkranz. A spokesperson for Scottsdale Airpark says it has not been contacted by the airline and does not know of its plans.
