Officials Testing Unmanned Helicopters To Fight Wildfires

Arizona caught a break this year — we avoided a catastrophic wildfire and the overall season was relatively light.

But as a whole, the Western United States continues to get hit very hard. There’s hope that high-tech advances in how fires are fought from the air can increase efficiency. To that end, federal officials have been testing unmanned helicopters.

We learned more from Mark Bathrick, director of the Office of Aviation Services for the U.S. Interior Department.
