Why We Believe What We Believe When It Comes To The Paranormal

During the Halloween season there is no shortage of haunted houses and other opportunities to see ghosts around the Valley.

But, why do we believe what we believe when it comes to the paranormal? Michael Shermer, publisher of Skeptic Magazine, explained. Shermer is also a columnist for Scientific American and a presidential fellow at Chapman University.

It starts when our brains form basic connections between things, Shermer said.
