Tuesday was election day and even though in most cases, it was bonds and overrides on the ballot, as opposed to candidates, school districts, among others, were very interested in the results.
Tim Ogle, executive director of the Arizona School Boards Association, spoke about the results.
There were groups that campaigned against the overrides, perhaps most notably the Maricopa County Republican party, which urged opposition on all of them in the county. Americans for Prosperity was also wary of the measures.
Tom Jenney, the Arizona director of Americans for Prosperity, also spoke about the election.
There were also interesting races in Southern Arizona. Tucson voters elected city council members and decided an $815 million bond package. Jim Nintzel, Tucson Weekly senior writer and host of the public affairs television show Zona Politics, spoke about the Tucson results.
