Arizona Snowbowl has announced it will open a week early this year.
Multiple inches of fresh powder fell at the end of October. Jason Stratton of Snowbowl said the corresponding cold temperatures also allowed their snowmakers to run 24 hours.
“When you’re able to combine natural snow fall with the snow making system, then you’ve got the perfect scenario to open much more of the mountain for that first day,” he said.
Snowbowl will open this year on November 20th. Stratton said they’re hoping the El Nino and early season will help attract more visitors during the upcoming holiday season.
