Holiday Season Brings Part-Time Jobs To Metro Phoenix

The holiday season is approaching, bringing seasonal jobs and part time employment to the Valley. Many seasonal job increases will be in retail trade, leisure and hospitality, and food and drink.

Doug Walls with the state’s Office of Employment and Population Statistics approximates that 10,000 to 20,000 jobs will be created due to seasonal gains from August to December.

“Every year Arizona is benefiting from those seasonal populations and where we are ramping up seasonal jobs and seasonal employment during that time,” Walls said.

With growth in nine of the 11 industries that the Arizona Department of Administration keeps track of, 2015 has proven to be a good year overall. The ADOA has also seen a 2.4 percent growth in non-farm employment this year, up from the projected 2.2 percent growth they expected.
