Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies Tuesday were given a tip about a puppy mill in Tonopah where they found and rescued 128 dogs, most of them pugs.
MCSO spokesman Chris Hergstrom says the dogs were living in poor conditions.
“There was a vet on scene last night that already gave us indications that there are issues with many of the dogs,” Hergstrom said.
As of now, the dogs are staying at the Sheriff’s no-kill shelter while the veterinarians inspect and clear them for adoption.
Once the tests are done, the office can determine how to charge the dogs’ owner.
